OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

The LiveInSteamboat.com Scholarship program is a way to tell inspiring stories about the Steamboat Springs community through the eyes of its future leaders. Students from local high schools are invited to create and post on Youtube and Facebook, a short 5-Minute (maximum length) video showcasing what they love most about their community.

ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:

Any Routt County High School Senior (including home-schoolers).

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

Winner is selected based on the most organically-generated online views.

  • 1st Place Winner: $3,500 + $1,000 for School

RULES:

Send video link to [email protected]. Video should be posted with a “Public” setting on Youtube and Facebook or both.

Rules for the LiveInSteamboat.com Video Scholarship Contest:

  1. All entries must have a maximum length of 5 minutes and not contain nudity, violence, or profanity.
  2. All entries must comply with all terms of service of any hosting platform, including trademarks, and organically generating video views (no boosted posts). YouTube videos will also be embedded on www.liveinsteamboat.com/scholarship.
  3. All entries need to clearly identify in the first ten seconds of the video that the video was produced as an entry for the “LiveInSteamboat.com 2022 Scholarship Contest” and include the Live In Steamboat Scholarship logo at the beginning of your video. Download scholarship logo here.
  4. All entries need to be tagged with #liveinsteamboat, @liveinsteamboat and the name of their high school (ex. #YVHS, SSHS).
  5. Entries that qualify with the above rules will be eligible. Winner will be announced May 13, 2022 at 12:00 pm MT.

CLAIMING YOUR AWARD:

The videos with the most views by May 13, 2022 at 12:00 pm MT while complying with the contest rules will receive their scholarship award at their high school scholarship award night. Scholarship certificates confirming the award amount will be presented to the winning students. Scholarship money will be paid to any academic program or educational institution in full, in the name of the winning student, upon written request of the student. Scholarship winners should provide 30-day notice for the arrival of a check request. Checks may be picked up by the student in person in Steamboat Springs or mailed directly to the institution in the name of the student. It is the responsibility of the student to verify receipt of the check by the academic institution.

Student winner of the LiveInSteamboat.com Video Scholarship Contest agrees to not alter or change the dynamic tags or content of the winning video for a period of 1 year after receipt of the Scholarship award. All Student participants shall allow their video, in whole or in part, to be used by LiveInSteamboat.com and its affiliates to promote Steamboat and future scholarship contests.
